Biography:
Jamsheed Shorish is a computational economist, earning his B.A. from Carleton College (MN, USA) and M.Sci. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University (PA, USA). Prior to joining COST he was a Research Economist at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, Austria, where he engaged in academic research, teaching and administration for the Department of Economics and Finance.

A general introduction to COST, its mission, characteristics and activities. Includes a presentation of COST Actions and the instruments available to them, the Open Call process for Action proposals, and an overview of COST Vision 2020.
