Messervey Thomas
Dr. Thomas B. Messervey dedicates himself to international industrial innovation and research. As well as working as a project manager with D’Appolonia, he is the EU facilitator for the IMS program for the European Region. He holds a PhD in the use of sensors to manage civil infrastructure in a life-cycle context (Italy) and last served as an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point (USA).

This presentation will detail how the FP6 Project Polyfunctional Technical Textiles Against Natural Hazards (POLYTECT) linked with other like research efforts within Europe and internationally under the IMS program to share research results, best practices, and to identify future areas for research, standardization, and exploitation. In addition, an update on the initiative itself and its most recent results in the area of informatic smart materials will be provided.
