Presentation:

" Energy Efficient Furnaces for Energy Intensive Industries"

Most industrial energy consumptions occur in industries that produce raw materials: non-metallic minerals (cement, ceramic), non ferrous metals, glass chemicals and petrochemicals, iron and steel. Together, these four materials groups consumed 62% of total final industrial energy use in 2004. They constitute the Energy Intensive Industries together with paper and pulp. EDEFU FP7 funded project aims to improve 20% energy efficiency in furnaces in a sustainable melting process for Energy Intensive Industries. New technologies will be researched to construct New Ecological Furnaces.
