Dr.ir. Fred van Roosmalen is VP External Relations with NXP Semiconductors and vice-chairman of Point-One, the Dutch association of high-tech innovators. He represents NXP in the international industry and academia community through the AENEAS and CATRENE board support groups and the ESIA R&D committee. Fred has held a variety of management positions in technology partnerships and RDI for the Philips divisions Research, Flat Panel Display, and Semiconductors.

Nanoelectronics is a suite of silicon-based technologies at the convergence of nano, materials and production, enabling electronic product and service innovation in societal relevant key markets, including transport, energy, and health. The ETP was established in 2004 to guarantee early access to leading edge capabilities and reinforce Europe’s industrial strengths. Its Strategic Research Agenda translates lead markets into technology priorities and ecosystem implementation drivers, such as the ENIAC JTI.
